Welcome to UW American Lung Association! Are you passionate about improving communities? Are you an eager pre-med student who wants to get involved in the health-related field? Are you an individual who can personally relate to lung diseases? We are a club dedicated to spreading awareness of lung-related diseases and improving communities.
Here’s a preview of what we did last year: 1) Climb for Clean Air at Rainier Tower in January. We volunteered, fundraised, and participated in the 40-story stair climb for ALA, which aimed at fundraising for lung disease research. 2) We participated and volunteered at the Lung Force Expo Walk in May at South Lake Union. This event was geared toward honoring lung cancer victims and survivors, raising awareness for lung health, and fundraising for lung-related research. 3) We collaborated with UW Hall Health to put on Kick Butts Day at the UW campus where we gave out free donuts, raised awareness about lung-related diseases, tobacco prevention and smoking cessation programs, and picked up butts around campus. We look forward to an even more rewarding year. Come and join us! We look forward to meeting you!
